Terms of Service

1. Operator and eligibility

StatementImporter is operated by Yang Ding, an individual based in Beijing, China. Contact: contact@statementimporter.com. You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to process any documents you use. If acting for an organisation or client, you must have authority to do so. Do not use the service if you do not accept these terms.

2. What the service does

StatementImporter converts compatible bank statement PDFs into CSV or Excel files and provides transaction review, available balance checks, source-page references, possible missing-page and duplicate warnings, and manual corrections. OCR and extraction run in the browser in the current version. Supported formats and limits are shown in the product.

This is a software tool, not a bank, money-transfer service, accountant, auditor or financial adviser. It does not access bank accounts or submit records to accounting software on your behalf.

3. Accounts and document rights

This public beta is free and requires email verification before conversion, account and batch use. No subscription or payment card is required. Keep your account credentials secure and notify us of suspected unauthorised access. Do not process documents without the necessary permission.

You retain your rights in your input documents and resulting data. We do not claim ownership of your statements or exports. Your permission to process a selected file is limited to delivering the requested conversion and review. Third-party rights in source documents remain unaffected.

4. Free access

The current service is free. No payment card, subscription or automatic renewal is required. Signing in does not authorise any charge. Any future paid offering would require separately disclosed terms and your explicit agreement.

5. Review outputs before use

PDF extraction and OCR can produce incorrect or incomplete dates, amounts, descriptions and balances. Passing available arithmetic checks does not prove that a statement is complete, authentic or ready for every accounting system. Missing-page and duplicate detection are warnings, not guarantees.

Compare exports against the original statement, resolve warnings and obtain professional review where appropriate before accounting, tax or other consequential use. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy, universal bank support or acceptance by third-party software.

6. Acceptable use and intellectual property

Use the service only for lawful document conversion and review. Do not use it to forge statements, conceal or fabricate transactions, commit fraud, infringe privacy or intellectual property, distribute malware, access other users’ data, or interfere with security or service availability.

The application, design and brand remain protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Open-source components retain their respective licences. Bank and accounting-product names identify compatibility or context only; they do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

7. Privacy and saved work

The Privacy Policy describes local processing, account information and provider data handling. Unsaved results are lost when the tab closes or reloads. Saved batches remain in the browser until removed and are not encrypted by the application. Signing out does not delete local saved work. Keep your own secure copies; the service does not provide cloud backup of statements.

8. Availability and responsibility

The service is provided on an as-available basis and may change or be interrupted. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant uninterrupted availability or fitness of an output for a particular purpose. We do not exclude liability or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not waive liability for fraud or other non-excludable conduct.

9. Suspension and ending use

Access may be restricted for serious misuse, security risks or legal requirements. You can stop using the service and request deletion of information we control by emailing contact@statementimporter.com. Delete saved work in your browser separately. Stopping use alone does not delete your email sign-in account; contact support to request deletion.

10. Law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections applicable in their place of residence. Contact us to try to resolve concerns; this does not prevent access to a competent court, regulator or lawful dispute mechanism.

Updated terms will be published with a new version and date. Material changes will be highlighted before they apply, except where an immediate change is required for legal or security reasons. Any paid launch requires clearly disclosed purchase terms and separate consent. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

English and Simplified Chinese versions are provided for convenience and are intended to have the same meaning. Mandatory local-language and consumer-law requirements remain unaffected. Operator: Yang Ding (individual), Beijing, China. All support, billing, cancellation, refund, privacy and security enquiries: contact@statementimporter.com.
